Considering the mess that has been the NFC East through three weeks, a team that can get out of Week 4 at 2-2 has to consider itself in good shape in the division. That's what the Philadelphia Eagles are going for Sunday, and what their Washington opponents will target as well. Barring a tie, one of the two will be 2-2 after their game Sunday.
The Eagles expect to get running back DeMarco Murray back after missing Week 3 with a hamstring issue, though he's not guaranteed to play yet and fantasy owners should check the latest reports before the game. On the Washington side, wide receiver DeSean Jackson will miss his third straight game since suffering his own hamstring injury in Week 1.
Philadelphia will travel to Washington for Sunday's game, scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. Here's a look at the fantasy names to consider:
EAGLES
Start 'em: The Washington defense is pretty generous to opposing wide receivers, making Jordan Matthews a fine option there. ... You still like any defense going against Washington's potential turnover machine, and the Eagles' defense is good enough as is.
Start 'em?: The Philadelphia running game is intriguing: if DeMarco Murray plays, you're using him, and if he sits, you're probably using Ryan Mathews. And either way, Darren Sproles is a flex play with upside, particularly in PPR leagues. ... Through three games, Zach Ertz has a total of eight fantasy points. He's much more of a name than a contributor. ... The Philadelphia offensive woes have severely limited the chances for their kicker. They signed Caleb Sturgis off the street after losing Cody Parkey for the year with a groin injury.
Sit 'em: You expect your fantasy quarterback to give you at least 15 fantasy points a game, preferably more. Sam Bradford is averaging only nine, and maxed out at 13. He's nowhere near fantasy consideration.
WASHINGTON
Start 'em: The best fantasy player on Washington this season, week-in and week-out, has been Jordan Reed, who is averaging almost 10 points a game. He's always an injury risk, but that's his only real downside right now.
Start 'em?: Just when you thought Matt Jones would supplant Alfred Morris as Washington's running back, he struggled in Week 3 and fumbled at the goal line. For now, both are low-end flex options. ... Pierre Garcon hasn't shined as much as you might have expected in Jackson's absence. He's only a flex play. ... Dustin Hopkins has had back-to-back strong kicking games since being picked up off the scrap heap after Week 1. ... The Washington defense is strong against the run, though its struggles against the pass make it a dicey fantasy play.
Sit 'em: Through three games this season, Kirk Cousins is averaging 11 fantasy points. He still isn't anything special.
