Group C went exactly as expected, as Korean champions and tournament favorites SKTelecom T1 ran through the group stages without a single loss, earning the No. 1 seed. MSI champions Edward Gaming finished in second, also as expected, with wins over every team not named SKT.
European side H2K finished in third place with a relatively strong showing (even if the results rarely showed it), while Bangkok Titans finished in fourth.
The first day of the second week was filled with excitement, with an unexpected turn of events for Group A. After KOO Tigers and Counter Logic Gaming entered the day tied for first place, Flash Wolves swept the day to win the group, while KOO secured second place. CLG lost all three games it played on the game, tumbling out of the knockout stages.
Full scores, stats and recaps from the day's action below.
SKTelecom T1 vs. Edward Gaming
SKT 16-4, 23:38
Bans: Rek'Sai, Annie, Lulu; Mordekaiser, Gangplank, Azir
SKT | KDA | CS | EDG | KDA | CS |
MaRin (Darius) | 5/2/6 | 210 | AmazingJ (Gnar) | 2/4/1 | 140 |
Bengi (Elise) | 3/0/9 | 77 | Clearlove (Gragas) | 0/3/2 | 74 |
Faker (Ryze) | 2/1/5 | 224 | PawN (Twisted Fate) | 1/3/3 | 193 |
Bang (Tristana) | 6/0/5 | 209 | Deft (Kalista) | 1/2/2 | 207 |
Wolf (Morgana) | 0/1/11 | 14 | Meiko (Thresh) | 0/4/3 | 25 |
SKT secured the first two kills of the game on a pair of dives top by MaRin and Bengi, killing AmazingJ twice. The two teams traded team fights, but SKT was able to pick off Meiko (with Bang, Wolf and Bengi) and PawN (with Faker, by himself) to take a 5-2 lead.
A fight near Dragon appeared to start firmyly in EDG's favor, able to pick off Faker, but SKT was able to recover to ace EDG thanks to high damage outputs from MaRin and Bang.

A mistake by Meiko to re-engage with Deft's Fate's Call gave another 2-0 fight to SKT and a 21-minute Baron.
SKT was able to just do whatever it wanted from that point, literally flashing past inhibitor turrets to take out EDG players in-base at that point. A 4-0 fight allowed SKT to take the base just 23 minutes in, and this one was a rout.

Bangkok Titans vs. H2K
H2K 21-4, 25:25
Bans: Rek'Sai, Thresh, Tahm Kench; Gangplank, Mordekaiser, Elise
BKT | KDA | CS | H2K | KDA | CS |
WarL0ck (Lulu) | 1/3/3 | 82 | Odoamne (Darius) | 5/2/8 | 208 |
007x (Gragas) | 0/4/4 | 85 | loulex (Lee Sin) | 2/0/14 | 67 |
G4 (Yasuo) | 1/6/2 | 181 | Ryu (Lissandra) | 2/2/11 | 226 |
Lloyd (Tristana) | 2/6/1 | 194 | Hjarnan (Kalista) | 9/0/8 | 229 |
Moss (Alistar) | 0/2/4 | 27 | kaSing (Annie) | 3/0/15 | 14 |
After a sluggish start to the game, an explosive team fight bottom gave H2K a 3-1 advantage with two kills onto Odoamne and strong synergy from Hjarnan and kaSing. H2K's bot lane had another excellent performance after a strong regular season, combining for a 12/0/23 mark in this game.
H2K was able to successfully turn that lead into picks and objectives. Leading 6-1 with a large gold advantage 17 minutes in, H2K won a 4-0 team fight. A 4-1 team fight minutes later allowed H2K to break the base and take out an inhibitor, and there was no coming back for the Titans from that point.

Bangkok Titans vs. Edward Gaming
Edward Gaming 22-15, 36:44
Bans: Kalista, Twisted Fate, Rek'Sai; Mordekaiser, Gangplank, Elise
BKT | KDA | CS | EDG | KDA | CS |
WarL0ck (Darius) | 2/4/8 | 280 | AmazingJ (Ekko) | 2/2/16 | 278 |
007x (Rengar) | 4/4/7 | 108 | Clearlove (Gragas) | 8/2/13 | 123 |
G4 (Lulu) | 4/5/9 | 262 | PawN (Yasuo) | 4/4/16 | 351 |
Lloyd (Jinx) | 4/6/7 | 297 | Deft (Lucian) | 7/4/11 | 295 |
Moss (Thresh) | 1/3/12 | 46 | Meiko (Braum) | 1/3/21 | 36 |
Before this game started, Phreak called the Titans' Rengar/Lulu composition the "League of Legends version of a 6 pool," referring to the popular aggressive early game Starcraft strategy. That proved just a little prescient.
An early gank by Clearlove allowed Deft to pick up First Blood on Lloyd, seeming to start EDG on the same path as the last matchup: a blowout win. But G4 evened up the game by taking out PawN in the mid lane (with an assist from Moss).

The Titans took the lead after a successful team fight top. while G4 earned another kill 14 minutes in. A double kill for 007x (after a perfect hook from Moss) extended the lead to 5-1 and 4k gold, and a 3-1 team fight for the Titans a few minutes later opened up a late first Dragon.
EDG was finally able to manufacture a team fight it wanted in its own jungle, baiting the Titans into a fight and winning it 5-2. EDG followed that up with good Dragon positioning, securing the objective and winning the ensuing fight 4-0. The MSI champions were able to take that small advantage and snowball, winning the next fight 4-1, grabbing Baron and eventually winning the game.

H2K vs. SKTelecom T1
SKT 19-8, 29:53
Bans: Azir, Rek'Sai, Elise; Mordekaiser, Gangplank, Lulu
H2K | KDA | CS | SKT | KDA | CS |
Odoamne (Renekton) | 1/0/3 | 232 | MaRin (Darius) | 3/2/5 | 246 |
loulex (Gragas) | 0/4/6 | 80 | Bengi (Evelynn) | 2/3/10 | 85 |
Ryu (Twisted Fate) | 5/5/3 | 221 | Easyhoon (Karthus) | 4/3/10 | 274 |
Hjarnan (Jinx) | 1/5/3 | 206 | Bang (Kalista) | 8/0/7 | 252 |
kaSing (Thresh) | 1/5/4 | 32 | Wolf (Alistar) | 2/0/16 | 40 |
SKT subbed out Faker for Easyhoon, and still took out Ryu pre-minions for First Blood. The Korean side built that into a 4-1 early lead, and took a 6-2 advantage into a lengthy pause for a review into a Odoamne-Bengi stun interaction.
Ryu's Twisted Fate was able to teleport around the map and pick up kills, securing the first four for H2K and helping lead a comeback effort to lessen SKT's advantage to 8-6. Ryu had a 5/3/1 scoreline at that point. SKT was able to sway momentum back in its favor with a 2-0 fight mid lane, but Ryu kept H2K in it for a while.
Easyhoon was able to pick off Ryu early in a team fight 26 minutes in, resulting in a 3-0 fight for SKT and a Baron. SKT used that Baron to break open the H2K base, getting a triple kill onto Bang and ending the game.

Edward Gaming vs. H2K
EDG 11-1, 33:37
Bans: Thresh, Darius, Twisted Fate; Gangplank, Mordekaiser, Rek'Sai
EDG | KDA | CS | H2K | KDA | CS |
AmazingJ (Malphite) | 3/1/3 | 217 | Odoamne (Fiora) | 0/1/1 | 260 |
Clearlove (Gragas) | 0/0/9 | 122 | loulex (Elise) | 0/1/1 | 76 |
PawN (Lulu) | 1/0/8 | 268 | Ryu (Orianna) | 0/4/0 | 300 |
Deft (Jinx) | 6/0/3 | 274 | Hjarnan (Kalista) | 0/2/0 | 280 |
Meiko (Tahm Kench) | 1/0/7 | 31 | kaSing (Annie) | 1/3/0 | 8 |
H2K got off to an early lead after Hjarnan and kaSing were able to force Deft and Meiko out of lane, swapping with AmazingJ. H2K responded by diving AmazingJ, getting First Blood onto kaSing.
After a pretty even game from that point, Deft managed to pick off Ryu for EDG's first kill of the game. Meiko's Abyssal Voyage and AmazingJ's teleport allowed EDG to force a team fight in the river that caught H2K out of position, giving the Chinese squad its first kill lead of the game.
What started as a good team fight for H2K near Baron turned disastrous after Clearlove landed a five-man Explosive Cask. EDG was able to clean up with the clean 5-0 fight, following that up with the Baron and finishing off the game.

It was an extremely protect-the-Jinx comp from EDG, and it worked. It's unlikely similar picks will be available in the knockout stages, and EDG will have to adjust moving forward.

SKT | KDA | CS | BKT | KDA | CS |
MaRin (Fiora) | 8/2/1 | 240 | WarL0ck (Darius) | 1/5/0 | 178 |
Bengi (Elise) | 1/1/7 | 70 | 007x (Rek'Sai) | 2/3/2 | 93 |

Wolf (Thresh) | 2/1/7 | 28 | Moss (Alistar) | 0/2/3 | 37 |
SKT basically spent most of this game roaming and picking off Bangkok Titans members, opening up an early 7-2 lead. It was just about as easy as you would expect, as SKT cruised to 6-0 in groups.
