San Diego Chargers wide receiver Stevie Johnson was forced from Sunday's game with a groin injury. Johnson hadn't even been targeted before leaving San Diego's 17-3 loss to the Denver Broncos.
In 10 games this season, Johnson has 497 receiving yards and three scores on 45 catches, though only one of those touchdowns has come since Week 2. In Johnson's stead Sunday, with Dontrelle Inman getting injured as well, the Chargers had only Malcom Floyd and Javontee Herndon available at wide receiver, plus Antonio Gates and Ladarius Green at tight end and Donald Brown and Danny Woodhead as pass-catching running backs.
Fantasy impact: We'll hear more about Johnson's status come Monday or Tuesday, but considering the team was desperate for offense Sunday and virtually out of wide receivers, the injury should be taken seriously. Johnson already missed time this season with a hamstring issue.
At this point, the Chargers' offense is such a mess that fantasy owners would be best off just avoiding the team. Assuming Johnson misses time, the only wide receiver worth a bigger look would be Floyd, but even he is unlikely to promise much in the way of upside.
