For the first time since Week 5 last season, the Kansas City Chiefs could have running back Jamaal Charles lining up in the offensive backfield this Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Charles is coming off a 2015 season that was cut short by a torn ACL and he has been inactive for the Chiefs’ first three games this year. But it is looking that the running back will be in the lineup for Kansas City this weekend, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Fantasy Impact: Charles is a talented athlete and he has been impressive throughout his NFL career, but fantasy owners should not expect a big performance from the running back on Sunday against the Steelers.
The Chiefs are expected to split their backfield touches between Charles and Spencer Ware, so fantasy owners may be better off leaving both players out of their lineups for this week at least. Ware has been impressive so far in 2016, but his production could falter with Kansas City integrating Charles back into the offense.
Yahoo! projects Charles to amass 47 total yards on nine touches this Sunday and that is not enough for fantasy owners to remove him from their bench this week.
