The New England Patriots are already throwing in the towel on Nate Washington. With the deadline on cutting rosters to 75 players set for Aug. 30, New England is cutting Washington, according to CSNNE reporter Tom Curran.
It is a bit surprising that Washington did not even make it to final roster cuts, but this is good news for the veteran receiver. He now has the chance to find a team in need of wide receivers and potentially make an impact there.
The only way this impacts New England is it may indicate Danny Amendola is close to being activated from the PUP list. With Amendola, Julian Edelman and Chris Hogan, Washington was going to struggle just to get playing time.
Fantasy Spin: Washington was not going to have any fantasy relevance in New England, but he may still have enough in the tank to do so with another team. He does not warrant a draft selection in your fantasy league, but that could change depending on who his next team is.
