Raiders quarterback Derek Carr indirectly helped the Oakland Police Department locate a missing child on Sunday, thanks to the power of social media.
The Oakland Police Department shared some details on Friday about an abducted child. The 3-year-old child had been taken by a family friend.

Carr retweeted the information to his 246,000 followers on Twitter. On Saturday, Lieutenant Chris Bolton of the Oakland Police Department tweeted Carr to alert him to the fact that the child had been located and was safe.
So it appears the secret to sharing local missing child info is a RT by your local @NFL QB. Thank you, @derekcarrqb! Child safely located!

And Carr was happy to hear it, of course.
@OPDChris great news! Thank you for letting me know they are safe! God bless y'all!

Carr was having an MVP-caliber season before being sidelined with a broken fibula in Week 16 against the Indianapolis Colts. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2016 for the second time in his two NFL seasons, and he was instrumental in helping the Raiders secure the second seed in the AFC.
In this case, Carr was apparently also instrumental in helping bring an abducted child safely home.
