Dennis Bergkamp Says Arsenal Need "More Of A Winning Mentality"
Arsene Wenger has come under fire in recent years for his inability to win a trophy at the Emirates, but that usually came from the media or supporters. Now his team is being criticized by a former Gunner. Dennis Bergkamp spoke to the Daily Telegraph and the former Arsenal great did not have much positive to say about his former club, telling the paper that the Gunners need "more of a winning mentality than a passing mentality".

Official: World Cup Way Cooler (And More Important) Than Stock Market
People like the World Cup! Like a lot. A lot, a lot. At least that's what a new study from the European Central Bank tells us and they gathered that by studying the people who run the stock market and discovering that during 2010 World Cup matches they basically ignored the work that keeps the economy ticking. Comforting, ain't it?
"When the national team was playing, the number of trades dropped by 45 percent, while volumes were 55 percent lower," the ECB's 37-page study revealed. "Stock markets were following developments on the soccer pitch rather than in the trading pit."

VIDEO: RSL Fans Get The Goosebumps Going Early
Need a little pick-me-up on another dreary winter day (unless you live in Hawaii or something and since you don't have a MLS team, you barely count anyway)? This promotional video of Real Salt Lake fans singing in the streets on the way to an admittedly fictitious match should just about do the trick. (Note: Just realized the lead guy in the video is Branden Steineckert, who is the drummer of Rancid.)
I'm no RSL fan, but will admit they seem to specialize in goosebump-inducing videos. Good work. Now, let's play some actual games.

Animals With Juan Agudelo Is Adoracute: Baby Tiger
Adoracute animals don't always just come with soccer balls. Sometimes they come with soccer players. In this case, the soccer player is Juan Agudelo and the adoracute animal is a baby tiger. The Red Bulls are in Cancun, Mexico for preseason and Agudelo did what any sane person would do. He sought out the cutest thing possible and found this tiger. The tiger is too little to bite your head off (says the veterinary expert in me) and he's trying to hold his own bottle. Basically, it's adorable wrapped in cute, stuffed with precious.

VIDEO: Beware The Flying Camera Stand In Your Next Brazilian Football Brawl
The first rule about fight club is you don't talk about fight club. The second rule about fight club is when you find yourself caught in a Brazilian football brawl you better beware the flying camera stand. In a Brazilian regional championship match over the weekend, things got a little heated and the two teams started pushing and shoving near the end line. Naturally, Aguia's Alexandre Carioca took that as his cue to grab a photographer's camera stand and hit Remo's Aldivan with it while Aldivan was bending over to tie his shoes.
The third rule about fight club? Don't get caught on camera using a camera stand. Carioca broke that rule.

VIDEO: The Weekend's Biggest Handshake Snub
The good old handshake has been put through some trying times recently. First, the whole thing was called off by the FA when Queens Park Rangers met Chelsea in the FA Cup over the dispute between John Terry and Anton Ferdinand. Then Luis Suarez caused a stir at Old Trafford when he refused to shake Patrice Evra's hand which led to Rio Ferdinand retaliating in kind. But the worst of the lot was saved for Villa Park.

VIDEO: Cristiano Ronaldo Gives Physics The Middle Finger
Physics are supposed to be a basic law of the world, but apparently Cristiano Ronaldo thinks he doesn't have to obey any such laws and guess what? He's right. The Real Madrid player gave physics the middle finger with his goal against Levante on Sunday, hitting the piss out of a ball from 25 yards that fired over the head of the goalkeeper, then somehow dropped like a rock below the bar for a goal and almost hit the ground before it even hit the net. It just doesn't make sense.

VIDEO: Zambia Proves Why Sports Are Better Than Anything Else, Always
It's really easy to make way too big of a deal about sports. They are just games and soccer is just a game where 22 guys run around and kick the ball around. It isn't a matter of life and death and it isn't really of any great importance, so why do we love it so much? Because of moments like the one in Gabon on Sunday when Zambia topped Ivory Coast to win their very first Africa Cup of Nations title.
The drama for 120 minutes of action plus penalties was unmatched. The quality of play was fantastic and it had all the ebbs, flows, peaks and valleys that you could ask for. There were the incredible plays and the mind-blowing missed opportunities, like Didier Drogba skying what could have been the winning penalty in the 70th minute. In the end, it went to a thrilling penalty shootout, where Zambia triumphed 19 years after their entire team and manager were killed in a plane crash.

VIDEO: Didier Drogba Skies Would-Be Africa Cup Of Nations Winning Penalty
It was all set up perfectly for the Ivory Coast. A penalty and Didier Drogba to take it with their second ever trophy on the line. If the best player that the country has ever produced could score from 12 yards out then they would be winners of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, their first trophy since the 1992 Cup of Nations. Only Drogba didn't score it. He didn't even come close.
