2012 Chick-fil-A Bowl, LSU vs. Clemson: Teams, TV schedule, location and more

Kevin C. Cox

LSU and Clemson will meet in Atlanta's Georgia Dome on New Year's Eve for the 2012 Chick-fil-A Bowl.

Somehow, the Chick-fil-A ended up with a bowl game that might be better than one or two BCS games. 10-game winner LSU is headed to Atlanta, where they'll take on Clemson, a 10-game winner from the ACC. Expect an exciting press conference battle between Dabo Swinney and Les Miles.

The Chick-fil-A Bowl (Peach Bowl to persistent Georgians) typically pairs the ACC's second-best with one of the SEC's non-incredible teams, leveling the playing field somewhat between the two local conferences. Held on New Year's Eve, it's built a reputation as one of the best non-BCS bowls, boasting the third-longest bowl sellout streak in the country and potential inclusion in the coming FBS playoff system.

My thoughts on the title sponsor's services: As an Atlantan (I could probably conclude with those words and leave no mystery here), I probably eat Chick-fil-A at least once a week. Except for when boycott things flare up. Their advertising is about desperate cows using advertising to stave off death -- really, the only advertising Chick-fil-A needs to do is say, "You probably haven't eaten at Chick-fil-A yet today, have you?"

Last year's score: Auburn 43, Virginia 24
