LP Field in Nashville will host Vanderbilt and N.C. State in the Music City Bowl on New Year's Eve.
Vanderbilt's not going very far for its bowl game, staying right in Nashville for the Music City. They're up against N.C. State, which beat Florida State (hooray!), but will be playing with an interim head coach (aww!). Winner gets James Franklin! (Just kidding.)
The Music City Bowl will be one of the several college football festivities on New Year's Eve. It's not one of the more high-profile bowls; throughout its history it has swapped conferences involved a bit, originally featuring the Big East before switching to the Big Ten and most recently the Atlantic Coast Conference. These days, the bowl typically features a lesser team from the ACC facing off against a lesser team from the Southeastern Conference.
TV schedule: Dec. 31, Noon ET, ESPN
Locale: Nashville, LP Field (69,143)
My thoughts on the title sponsor's services: Well, this one is boring. I guess the Music City as a whole sells records. Records are neat. Wait, you say it's actually called the Franklin American Mortgage Company Music City Bowl? Well, I guess they sound as good as any other American mortgage company.
Last year's score: Mississippi State 27, Wake Forest 17
