Michigan and South Carolina meet in south Florida for the 2012 Outback Bowl.
The Big Ten's 8-4 Michigan Wolverines are headed to Tampa for the Outback Bowl. They'll face a 10-game winner from the SEC East, South Carolina. Jadeveon Clowney chasing Denard Robinson! We'll take it.
The Outback Bowl has been a fixture in the New Year bowl scene since the mid-1980s when it was known as the Hall of Fame Bowl, routinely being played on Jan. 1 or 2. Known as the Outback Bowl since the 1996 edition, the game currently features the third picks from the SEC and Big Ten conferences and has a payout of $7.2 million.
TV schedule: Jan. 1, 1 p.m. ET, ESPN
Locale: Tampa, Raymond James Stadium (65,657)
My thoughts on the title sponsor's services: Aside from the guy with the poor Aussie accent in their commercials, I have not heard anything bad about Outback Steakhouse. In fact, it seems like people are often raving about Outback's food and more specifically the infamous "Bloomin' Onion," whatever it actually is. I've never eaten at an Outback, but hopefully their bowl game is better than the guy's accent in their commercials.
Last year's score: Michigan State Spartans 33, Georgia Bulldogs 30 (3OT)
