It's the Belk Bowl for the Bearcats and the Blue Devils.
The Big East's Cincinnati and the ACC's Duke will meet in the Belk Bowl, Brett McMurphy reports.
The Belk Bowl has been referred to by the Sports Business Journal as one of the top five startups in sports. It claims to hold the record for the highest attendance at a non-BCS bowl game and the second-largest attendance at a non-BCS bowl game. Teams from the ACC and Big East are ready to get their time in the spotlight by playing for a purse of $3.4 million.
TV schedule: Thursday, Dec. 27 at 6:30 p.m. ET on ESPN
Locale: Charlotte, Bank of America Stadium (73,778)
My thoughts on the title sponsor's services: Belk is a department store in the Southeast, priding itself on bringing a "Southern lifestyle" to each of its customers. I always seem to end up at Belk when I'm visiting my grandma in West Virginia. I live in SoCal; Belk isn't ironic-hipster enough to last out here.
Last year's score: NC State 31, Louisville 24
