Boris Vukcevic has been transferred to a rehabilitation facility earlier this week. The Hoffenheim midfielder's condition continues to improve to this day.
Vukcevic, 22, has been in the Heidelberg University Hospital since the accident on September 28. After several operations, the midfielder was placed in a medically induced coma where he remains to this day. His condition has improved enough that the doctors feel comfortable enough allowing him to move to nearby rehabilitation facility to continue his treatment.
Hoffenheim's sporting director Andreas Müller said, "We're very confident that Boris will recover well, but the situation is still a stressful one, which is why we want to remain respectful and sensitive about it, particularly for Boris and his family."
Vukcevic is a diabetic, and the police concluded from their investigation that he was suffering from low blood sugar at the time of the accident.
The club has had three matches in his absence. They played a scoreless draw with Augsburg the day after the accident followed by a 0-2 loss to leaders Bayern Munich and a wildly entertaining 3-3 draw with Greuther Fürth.
