Wolfsburg crush Fortuna Düsseldorf days after firing manager Felix Magath
Wolfsburg used the "fired manager bump" to crush Fortuna Düsseldorf 4-1. The most exciting thing for Wolfsburg is their summer signings finally looked worthy of wearing the shirt.
The action didn't get started until the second half, but Wolfsburg had a field day once it started. Ivica Olic sent in a low cross to Bas Dost, and the forward beat Fabian Giefer for the 1-0 lead after 50 minutes. Wolfsburg only needed three minutes before they struck again. This time, Diego sent a long pass into Olic, and the Croatian beat Giefer with a low hard shot.
The visitors grabbed another goal in ten minutes when Makoto Hasebe's cross found Dost who beat Giefer again. The two sides would exchange penalties in the remaining minutes with Jens Langeneke and Diego scoring to make it 4-1.
The motto of this game: Fire Felix Magath, and you will win. Well, it is something like that.
