Hannover rebounded from a disappointing loss at the weekend with a big win.
Szabolcs Huszti picked up his sixth and seventh assists of the season and scored his third goal of the year as Hannover pounded Nürnberg 4-1.
The hosts broke through after 21 minutes to take a 1-0 lead. Jan Schlaudraff played across into the box to Szabolcs Huszti. He laid the ball back to Lars Stindl who put his shot past Raphael Schäfer. Huszti then stripped Per Nilsson on the Nürnberg backline and raced directly at Schäfer. He put his shot to the far post and it struck the side netting to double the lead for Hannover after just 29 minutes.
Didier Ya Konan picked up a brace in the second half to put Hannover way out in front. In the 52nd minute, he stripped the ball from Nürnberg's Timothy Chandler before powering his shot past Schäfer to make it 3-0. Eleven minutes later it was 4-0 when Huszti found Ya Konan, and the forward found the back of the net.
Chandler picked up a late consolation goal for Nürnberg when his left footed shot squirted through the arms of Ron-Robert Zieler.
