Borussia Mönchengladbach jumped up the table into the last Europa League place temporarily after a big 1-0 victory in the Commerzbank-Arena against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Gladbach was more than comfortable allowing Frankfurt possession, while they waited for their opportunity to counter. They came close in the 19th minute, but Amin Younes' cross was behind both Luuk De Jong and Patrick Herrmann.
However, just a couple of minutes later it was 1-0. Thorben Marx headed on a corner kick to the far post, and De Jong was on hand to head it into the back of the net for only his fourth goal of the season.
The real star of the match for Gladbach was Younes. The 19 year old has come up through the club's academy and has put in stellar back to back performances against Borussia Dortmund and now Frankfurt.
Dropping all three points sees Frankfurt within striking distance of several clubs. If Freiburg manage to win this weekend, they'll pass Frankfurt for the fourth Champions League place, and four other clubs can come within one or two points of them. Gladbach are into sixth now but could fall as far as tenth if results go against them this weekend.
