Bayern Munich vs. HSV: Final score 9-2, Bayern do Bayerny things

Alexander Hassenstein

Bayern Munich rested four starters for their home game against Hamburg. They scored five billion goals anyway.

Bayern Munich have been nigh-on unstoppable at home this season, but before the game it didn't seem impossible that Hamburg could have made things interesting at the Allianz. After all, Jupp Heyneckes rested David Alaba, Mario Mandzukic, Franck Ribery and Thomas Mueller in preparation for the Champions League clash against Juventus next week. Hamburg are a decent team and if given the chance could probably do some damage.

Yeah, that didn't go so well...

1-0, Xhedran Shaqiri (5')
2-0, Bastian Schweinsteiger (19')
3-0, Claudio Pizarro (30')
4-0, Arjen Robben (33')
5-0, Claudio Pizarro (45')
6-0, Claudio Pizarro (53')
7-0, Arjen Robben (54')
8-0, Claudio Pizarro (68')
8-1, Jeffrey Bruma (75')
9-1, Franck Ribery (76')
9-2, Heiko Westermann (86')

I get the feeling that Bayern Munich might consider turning the difficult sliders up a little bit, because this is all a little bit silly. They're demolishing all who come before them without even looking like they're trying. Poor Rene Adler. Poor HSV defence. Poor Bundesliga. Poor Juventus, one has to presume.
