Williams joins outstanding 2013 recruiting class for the Tigers.

Prep phenom Jonathan Williams III announced at a press conference Thursday he intends to play his collegiate basketball at Missouri.

The 6-foot-9, 210-pound forward from Memphis Southwind chose the Tigers over Michigan State, Tennessee and Georgetown.

Williams was the No. 12 forward the the country, according to ESPN. He elected to leave his home state despite a visit to Tennessee Sept. 15. He took a recruiting trip to Michigan State Sept. 28, and had said he was going to announce his decision Oct. 18.

Williams joins guards Wesley Clark and Travis Jorgenson in Missouri's 2013 recruiting class.

He's projected as a versatile forward, capable of scoring inside and out. While he's had some nagging injuries in his past, he has the physical capability of being a mismatch on both sides of the floor.

ESPN noted about Williams in his scouting report, "He runs the floor and can lead the break with his handles or make the correct pass, once his strength catches up he could be a pro."
