The sophomore guard took an astounding 108 shots from the field in setting the record.

Jack Taylor of Division III school Grinnell College (Iowa) scored 138 points against Faith Baptist College (Iowa) as he set the new all-time NCAA record for points scored in a game.

In case it wasn't clear, Grinnell College won, 179-104. Taylor finished the game 52-of-108 from the field, 27-of-71 from the three-point line and added seven free throws. All of this came in just a mere 35 minutes.

The 5'10 sophomore guard wasn't all perfect, though, as he did have six turnovers.

Taylor has shown the ability to score in limited time. Through the first two games of the season, he's averaged 13.5 minutes a game and has scored 23.5 points per game. After Tuesday, he raised his scoring average to 61 points per game.

Grinnell College is known for their run-and-gun style of play that involves a constant full-court press, an emphasis on offensive rebounding, a heavy reliance on three-point shots and substitutions of all players on the floor every 35 to 40 seconds.
