It was hardly the cleanest performance, but the UNLV Runnin' Rebels made short work of the UC-Irvine Anteaters, winning by a final score of 85-57. After leading by eight at halftime, UNLV outscored UC Irvine by 20 in the second half to pull away with the win. 24th-ranked UNLV improved on the season to 4-1 as they look to stay in the top 25.
It was not the cleanest performance by the Rebels. UNLV shot just around 40% from the field and made under 70% of their free throws. But they did take 13 more free throws and made ten more, and also outrebounded UC Irvine 31 to 21. The Rebels also dished out ten more assists and nailed several more three-pointers.
UNLV was led by Anthony Bennett, who hit nine free throws and scored 19 points while grabbing five boards. Mike Moser struggled with his shot, but grabbed 8 rebounds and scored 19 points on 17 shots. Katin Reinhardt added 11 points and four assists.
