The No. 1 Indiana Hoosiers began the 2012 season on Friday night by crushing the Bryant Bulldogs 97-54. The Indiana frontline dominated the game, with Naismith Award frontrunner Cody Zeller putting up 18 points and 10 rebounds and Christian Watford chipping in with 15 points and 15 rebounds.
The Hoosiers shot 55 percent as a team despite Watford shooting 3-of-10 from the field. Indiana also out-rebounded the Bulldogs by a margin of 45-26, and three Hoosiers scored in double-digits off the bench: Jeremy Hollowell, Remy Abell and Will Sheehey.
Forward Alex Francis led the Bulldogs in scoring with 15 points and in rebounds with eight. Guard Corey Maynard added 11 points and seven boards. As a team, though, Bryant shot just 32 percent as a team and 4-of-29 from three-point range.
The Hoosiers aren't likely to be tested until Nov. 27, when they'll host the No. 11 North Carolina Tar Heels.
