Virginia Tech upset Oklahoma State on Saturday, knocking off the Cowboys, 81-71.
The Virginia Tech Hokies improved to 7-0 on Saturday afternoon, after upsetting the 15th-ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys, 81-71.
The Cowboys (5-1) took a modest 36-32 lead into halftime, but Virginia Tech came out and played an excellent second half, outscoring Oklahoma State 49-35, ultimately leading to the Hokies' win.
Erick Green led all scorers in the contest, scoring 28 points for the Hokies in the winning effort. Green added eight rebounds.
Jarell Eddie posted a double-double for Virginia Tech in the win. Eddie scored 15 points while grabbing a game-high 13 rebounds.
Le'Bryan Nash and Marcus Smart both scored 18 points for Oklahoma State. Nash added four assists and four rebounds, while Smart recorded a double-double, grabbing 11 rebounds.
Virginia Tech's win over Oklahoma State is the Hokies' first win over a ranked opponent in 2012.
Oklahoma State will attempt to rebound on Wednesday, when the Cowboys play host to the South Florida Bulls. The Hokies won't play again until Dec. 8, when they head to West Virginia to take on the Mountaineers.
