After a hot first half, the No. 24 UNLV Rebels struggled in the second half, but the team was able to hold on and defeat the visiting Hawaii Warriors by the score of

Behind freshman Anthony Bennett's team-leading 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the floor, the No. 24 UNLV Runnin' Rebels took care of business on Saturday at Thomas & Mack Center, defeating the visiting Hawaii Warriors by the score of 77-63.

The Rebels could not be stopped in the first half, scoring a whopping 49 points with their high-powered offense that featured four players in double-digit points by game's end. UNLV opened the second half with a 22 point lead to protect.

Hawaii would eventually get back into the game, closing the 22 point lead in the second half behind junior Christian Standhardinger, who scored a game high 27 points with 10 rebounds, also a game high.

However, the second half run just wasn't enough and the team eventually ran out of time, giving the Warriors their second loss on the season.

On the other hand, the victory extended UNLV's winning streak to three games and improved the team's record to 5-1 on the young season.
