No. 25 NC State vs. Stanford: Wolfpack get past Cardinal, 88-79

NC State improves to 8-2 on the season after a win over Stanford.

The No. 25 NC State Wolfpack took a five-point lead into the locker room at halftime and pulled away from the Stanford Cardinal in the second half on the way to a 88-79 win at home.

Four Wolfpack players finished in double figures including Lorenzo Brown who led all scorers in the game with 24 points. Richard Howell and Scott Wood also ended the game in double figures, both with 17 points. All of Wood's shots came from beyond the arc, finishing the game five of 10 from downtown. Howell finished with a double-double, chipping in 12 rebounds. C.J. Leslie finished with 16 points as well.

The Cardinal fell to 7-4 on the season with the loss and were led in scoring by Dwight Powell who finished with 23 points. Aaron Bright came off the bench and scored 16 points for the Cardinal with Chasson Randle and Josh Huestis ending the night with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Neither team turned the ball over much, with Stanford coughing the ball up only six times and NC State losing it 10 times.
