Yahoo! Sports is reporting Kabongo's appeal will heard quickly.
It was just yesterday when reports surfaced that Texas Longhorns sophomore guard Myck Kabongo would be suspended for the year by the NCAA. Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports is reporting Texas has filed an appeal of the suspension, which will be expedited. A decision on the appeal could come down as early as Friday. Texas could also have Kabongo's suspension reduced if the NCAA doesn't wish to immediately reinstate him.
Yahoo! Sports reported on Wednesday the suspension was related to potential inaccuracies in an interview Kabongo had with the NCAA. The NCAA had looked into Kabongo's relationship with an agent in addition to a predraft workout Kabongo is alleged to have participated in back in May.
Kabongo has yet to play this season after averaging just over 30 minutes a contest in 34 games last season. He averaged 9.6 points per game and 5.2 assists per game in the 2011 season that ended with an opening round loss to the Cincinnati Bearcats in the NCAA Tournament.
