No. 9 Kansas upset No. 7 Ohio State on Saturday, using a big second half to score a 74-66 victory.
The Kansas Jayhawks and Ohio State Buckeyes played as close a game as you'll see this season, that is until about the final seven minutes. Then, Ben McLemore took off and No. 9 Kansas pulled ahead to secure the upset over No. 7 Ohio State, winning 74-66.
Heading into the second half, it was very evenly matched, with Kansas holding a narrow 37-35 lead. The game was back and forth from there, with the teams being within four points of each other through to about the seven-minute mark.
McLemore was the big scorer for Kansas, putting up 22 points, and shooting 8-of-17 from the field, with six rebounds on top of that. Nobody for Ohio State put on a jaw-dropping performance, with Deshaun Thomas leading the way with 16 points, six rebounds and 4-of-11 shooting from the field.
Also, during the game, this happened. So there's that.
Kansas moves to 10-1 on the season, with a 1-0 mark on the road, while the Buckeyes fall to 9-2, with a 7-1 mark at home. The Jayhawks will take on American University in their next game Dec. 29, while the Buckeyes will play host to Chicago State on the same day.
