Minnesota won its eighth game in a row on Saturday to close out its non-conference schedule.
Joe Coleman had 12 points and four rebounds on 6-of-8 shooting from the field to help lead the Minnesota Golden Gophers over the Lafayette Leopards, 75-50, on Saturday. The win was Minnesota's eighth in a row as the No. 13 Golden Gophers improved to 12-1 on the season.
Minnesota shot just 42.4 percent from the floor in the win but grabbed 20 offensive rebounds as a team to help secure the 25-point victory. Andre Ingram led the Golden Gophers with five offensive rebounds while Maurice Walker added four.
The loss snapped Lafayette's two-game winning streak as the Leopards fell to 5-9 on the season. Dan Trist led the Leopards with a game-high 14 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the field.
Minnesota's only loss this season came against Duke on Nov. 22. The Golden Gophers wrapped up their non-conference schedule with the win over Lafayette and will now prepare for Big Ten play when they host No. 20 Michigan State on Dec. 31.
