No. 8 Florida vs. Kansas State final score: Wildcats upset Gators

Will Spradling and Rodney McGruder combined to score 30 points to help lead Kansas State to a 67-61 win over No. 8 Florida.

The Kansas State Wildcats got off to a quick start and were able to hold on Saturday night to upset the No. 8 Florida Gators 67-61.

The Wildcats ended the first half on a 7-1 run to head into the break with a 33-23 advantage. Florida was able to cut into the lead over the second period, tying the game up at one point, but couldn’t manage to avoid the upset.

Will Spradling led the way for Kansas State, scoring 17 points on 4-of-12 shooting from the field with six rebounds and five assists. Rodney McGruder added 13 points for the Wildcats.

Patrick Young scored 19 points while adding 10 rebounds and two blocks for the Gators, while Kenny Boynton and Scottie Wilbekin each contributed 11 points.

Florida’s next game takes place a week from tonight when they welcome the Air Force Falcons. Kansas State will also take a break over the Christmas holiday, as their next game is Saturday against the UMKC Kangaroos.
