Whatever halftime adjustments Billy Donovan made in the locker room must have have worked because the Gators came out and dominated Air Force in the second half.
After a competitive first half, the Florida Gators ran Air Force out of the gym in the final 20 minutes to earn a 78-61 victory Saturday afternoon.
Erik Murphy led the way with a game-high 21 points on 8-of-10 shooting to go along eight rebounds, four assists and two blocks. Kenny Boynton also showed some signs of life after his recent slump, chipping in 14 points, four rebounds and four assists.
Air Force caught an unsuspecting Florida team by surprise in the first half but the Gators were able to carry a slim 33-31 lead into the locker room. The second half was an entirely different story, with Florida outscoring Air Force by 15 as they held the Falcons under 40 percent shooting from the floor.
The Gators now have only one game left on their tough non-conference schedule: a Jan. 6 visit to Yale. Three days after that, they'll get the SEC party started as they play host to the Georgia Bulldogs.
