College basketball rankings: Indiana tops AP Top 25

US PRESSWIRE

The Indiana Hoosiers are still the top ranked team in the nation, according to the latest AP poll. How does the rest of the top five look and who are the biggest risers and fallers in college basketball?

The Indiana Hoosiers remain at the top of the men's Basketball AP Top 25, receiving 45 of the 65 first-place votes. Right behind the Hoosiers, the Duke Blue Devils received the other 20 first place votes to put them at No. 2. The Michigan Wolverines remained at No. 3, 110 points behind the Blue Devils.

After that, the Syracuse Orange rose two spots to No. 4 and the Florida Gators remained idle to round out the top five. The Ohio St. Buckeyes fell three spots to No. 7 after last week's loss to Duke. The biggest drop in the rankings this week were the Kentucky Wildcats, who fell out of the top 25 from No. 8 after losses to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Baylor Bears, both unranked teams. The Oklahoma St. Cowboys and the N.C. State Wolfpack both fell eight and seven spots, respectively.

As for big risers, the Illinois Fighting Illini shot up nine spots from No. 22 to rank at No. 13. Both the Minnesota Golden Gophers and the New Mexico Lobos rose seven spots to be ranked at No. 14 and No. 18, respectively. Both the Irish and the Wichita St. Shockers broke into the top 25 after being unranked last week.
