The 17th-ranked San Diego St. Aztecs had an easy enough time with the Texas Southern Tigers, winning by a final score of 74-62. San Diego State took an early 34-16 halftime lead on Texas Southern and held on the rest of the way. SDSU improved to 6-1 on the season, dropping Texas Southern to 1-7.

Chase Tapley scored 16 points on 7-13 shooting and distributed five assists. Deshawn Stephens scored 13 points and grabbed five boards, and Dwayne Polee II added 10 points. Texas Southern was led by Omar Strong, who scored 15 points.
