No. 4 Syracuse vs. Monmouth final score: Orange extend home streak with 108-56 win

Jim McIsaac

Syracuse had no trouble improving to 8-0.

The Syracuse Orange won their 28th straight game at home by trouncing the Monmouth Hawks, 108-56. The Orange made 42 shots in the victory.

In the middle of it all was sophomore point guard Michael Carter-Williams. He did a little bit of everything, as he finished with 15 points, 16 assists, five steals and four blocks. Brandon Triche led the Orange in scoring with 18 points.

Syracuse did a particularly strong job on the glass, as the Orange outrebounded Monmouth 58-29 in the victory. A pair of Syracuse players racked up double-doubles, aiding their rebound margin. C.J. Fair finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while DaJuan Coleman had 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Jim Boeheim's squad has been on the top of its game defensively lately. The Orange have held their opponents to 56 points or less in three straight games.

Syracuse is now off until Dec. 15 when it plays Canisius at home. The Orange's win streak at the Carrier Dome is now the longest in the country.
