No. 1 Duke was tied with Davidson at halftime, but a 12-0 run to start the second half propelled the Blue Devils to a 67-50 victory on the road.

The No. 1 Duke Blue Devils found themselves in a dogfight early, but used a strong second half to defeat the Davidson Wildcats, 67-50, at Belk Arena on Wednesday night.

Ryan Kelly scored five of his 18 points during a 12-0 Duke run to start the second half, after the two teams went into the break tied at 29. The Blue Devils (13-0) would never let their lead get under double digits the rest of the way.

Kelly scored his 18 points on 5-of-8 shooting and 3-of-4 from three-point land. He also made five of his six shots from the line and pulled down seven rebounds. Duke star Mason Plumlee had a relatively quiet night, scoring just 10 points and grabbing seven rebounds. Plumlee also turned the ball over six times. Quinn Cook added 15 points for the Blue Devils, while Tyler Thornton chipped in 10 points off the bench.

Jake Cohen led Davidson (7-6) with 19 points on 5-of-10 shooting and 8-of-8 from the charity stripe. De'Mon Brooks had eight points and 12 rebounds, but he shot just 4-of-13 from the field. The Wildcats as a team struggled offensively, knocking down just 30.4 percent of their shots.
