The No. 7 Indiana Hoosiers did exactly what they should have to the Penn State Nittany Lions, defeating them easily. The Hoosiers were on cruise control all night in their 72-49 win over the Nittany Lions. Indiana picked up their sixth conference victory of the year, while Penn State kept a goose egg in the Big Ten win column.
Penn State shot just 33 percent, with D.J. Newbill and Jermaine Marshall ending the game with 18 and 12 points. The team hit just two of their 14 three-pointers. Penn State also had trouble on the boards, allowing the Hoosiers to outrebound them, 37 to 27.
Victor Oladipo led the Hoosiers in scoring, finishing with 19 points on the night. Behind him was Kevin Ferrell with 15, and Will Sheehey came off the bench to drop 12 points. Indiana shot much better by comparison, hitting 45.5 percent of their shots on the night.
Penn State's schedule doesn't get easier, as they head home to face the No. 14 Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday. Indiana will host the No. 13 Michigan St. Spartans the same day.
