Notre Dame avoided losing yet another game to an unranked team by outscoring South Florida in the second half, 45-30, to rally for a much-needed win.

Facing the possibility of losing consecutive games to unranked teams, the No. 24 Notre Dame Fighting Irish overcame a seven-point halftime deficit to defeat the South Florida Bulls, 73-65, on Saturday afternoon at the Sun Dome in Tampa, Fla.

The Irish were in desperate need of a win, having lost three out of their last four games, all to teams outside of the top 25. Jerian Grant ensured that wouldn't happen again, scoring 18 points and dishing out eight assists, while three other Notre Dame players reached double-figures in scoring.

Jack Cooley, who ended up with just six points, made up for his low-scoring day by pulling down 14 rebounds, six of which created second-chance opportunities for Notre Dame's offense. Notre Dame won the game on the boards, outrebounding the Bulls, 32-14.

Zach LeDay finished with 17 points off the bench for South Florida, while Anthony Collins chipped in 12 points and eight assists.
