The Arizona Wildcats had little trouble putting away the USC Trojans on Saturday night, coasting to a 74-50 win. Arizona built a big lead in the first half, and was able to take its foot off the gas in the second half. The win was a big one mentally for the Wildcats, who had lost two of their past four games after starting the season 14-0.
Nick Johnson led the Wildcats with 14 points, and was one of four players to score in double figures. Solomon Hill had 13 points, five rebounds, and four assists, Brandon Ashley had 11 points and seven rebounds, and Kaleb Tarczewski had 10 points and seven rebounds in support.
For the Trojans, the story begins and ends with their ice cold shooting. The team shot under 30% both from the floor and from three point range, and just plain weren't able to keep up with Arizona. Jio Fontan led the team with nine points, but did so on 2-9 shooting. The Trojans also turned the ball over 16 times, and could only manage six assists as a team.
