La Salle notched its second Top 25 win in less than a week, this time with a 69-61 road win over VCU.
Just day after upsetting Butler at home, the La Salle Explorers knocked off another Top 25 Atlantic 10 team, beating the No. 19 VCU Rams, 69-61, Saturday night on the road.
Up nine at the break, La Salle withstood a 17-0 run from the Rams to start the second half and answered with a 10-3 run of its own to retake control.
In the final minute, the Explorers made nine out of ten free throws to prevent VCU from pulling off the comeback.
Ramon Galloway accounted for four of those free throws as the Rams drew closer. All game long he was lights out for La Salle, with a game-high 31 points on 9-18 shooting from the field and 9-10 shooting from the line.
Juvonte Reddic kept VCU in the game by controlling the inside. His 22 points came on 9-13 shooting and he also grabbed ten rebounds. Troy Daniels was responsible for three out of VCU's four threes on the game. He had 11 points.
La Salle has now won four out of five games and has proven to be a major factor in the Atlantic 10.
