The Zips are getting the Nike logo alternate treatment with one fun extra element: the team's Twitter handle is on the back.
It's not uncommon to see a team advertising its Twitter handle on the floor and hashtags in the endzone, but as of yet, throwing Twitter handles on jerseys hasn't really caught on. You'll see artists tossing their handle on mixtapes or social media 'experts' putting their @ all over their business cards or in the email signatures, so it was only a matter of time.
Akron, home of the Black Keys, LeBron James and tires, is going for it -- or at least, the Akron Zips are.
Akron is getting those centered logo Nike unis in black. Still not a fan of this design style. twitter.com/chrislittmann/…

Hey, why not? I'm just waiting for this to branch out into more diverse and exciting ways. Maybe someday soon Subway will start grilling @Subway into its footlongs. Or adventurous Starbucks baristas will find a way to get their Twitter name into their latté art. The sky's the limit.
What other fun ways can you see Twitter handles forcing their way into society?
