Jabari Parker provides first highlight reel dunk as a Duke Blue Devil

USA TODAY Sports

As Duke sort of opened its 2013-14 season with an exhibition game against Bowie State on Saturday, there was little question about which player Blue Devil fans - and the rest of the college basketball world - were most eager to see.

Freshman forward Jabari Parker, who once appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated along with the title of "best high school basketball player since LeBron James," missed a solid chunk of his senior season of high school ball thanks to a nagging foot injury. Although anyone who saw him play over the summer raved about his ability, Parker's health was still a "believe it when I see it" situation for some folks in Durham.

If you fast forward to the 1:00 mark on the video below, I think you'll agree that the foot looks just fine.

Parker finished the game with 16 points and five assists in just 24 minutes for Duke, which won easily by a final score of 103-67. Mississippi State transfer Rodney Hood led the Blue Devils with 19 points.
