The Buckeyes defense was a major part of Ohio State's win, forcing Marquette to shoot 18.9 percent from the floor.

(10) Ohio State Buckeyes 52, (17) Marquette Golden Eagles 35: There's ugly basketball and then there's whatever happened Saturday afternoon at the Bradley Center. Both teams combined to shoot 4-of-36 (11 percent) from three-point range and there were 31 turnovers in all.

Junior guard Shannon Scott and junior forward Sam Thompson led the way for the Buckeyes with 13 points apiece. Senior guard Aaron Craft flirted with a triple-double, posting 10 points, 10 assists and seven assists.

No starter for the Golden Eagles scored over four points and the five combined for just 12 total. Senior forward Davante Gardner provided 10 points and six boards from the bench. Marquette shot 18.9 percent from the floor.

(16) Wichita State Shockers 85, Tennessee State Tigers 72: The Shockers trailed 29-28 against Tennessee State at halftime, but overwhelmed the Tigers in the second half en route to their fourth win of the season. Wichita State shot 6-of-11 from deep and 56.3 percent in the final 20 minutes.

Junior guard Tekele Cotton led the way for the Shockers, scoring 18 points on eight shots from the field. Senior forward Cleanthony Early delivered 16 points and seven rebounds of his own.

Senior Tigers guard Patrick Miller led all scorers with 23 points.

(25) Virginia Cavaliers 70, Davidson Wildcats 57: A 22-9 run by the Cavaliers in the second half gave the team their second win on the season. Virginia sophomore forward Mike Tobey led all scorers with 18 points off the bench. Sophomore guard Malcolm Brogdon contributed 17 points of his own.

Davidson, off to an 0-3 start, got just three points from its bench and shot just over 30 percent as a team. The Wildcats have lost two of their first three games against ranked opponents and still have games at No. 12 North Carolina and No. 16 Wichita State in late December.
