No. 14 Villanova led by just four at the half, but opened the second on a 17-3 run to blow out Saint Joseph's, 98-68, on Saturday in Philadelphia.
It was Villanova's first road game of the season, though it was just a few miles from campus, and the Wildcats had no trouble beating a Big 5 opponent for the second straight game. They also topped Penn, 77-54, Wednesday night.
With the win, Villanova remained undefeated, improving to 9-0 as one of the nation's surprising teams in 2013-14. The Wildcats started the season unranked, but thrust themselves into the national spotlight with a Battle 4 Atlantis championship that included wins over Kansas and Iowa. They will face two more mid-majors in the next couple weeks before a big trip to the Carrier Dome to face Syracuse on Dec. 28.
