The Buckeyes got a game from the Wildcats, whose 4-7 record in conference play entering the game did not stop them from competing. Northwestern jumped out to a 10-4 lead, and maintained a lead for most of the first half until Lenzelle Smith Jr.'s three-pointer with under three minutes remaining in the half put the Buckeyes on top. The lead didn't last long, as Tre Demps hit a buzzer-beating three to knot the game at 30 heading into the break.
The Wildcats went back up by as many as five points in the second half, but Ohio State finished the game on a 26-11 run to earn its seventh straight victory over Northwestern, and its 24th in the last 25 meetings between the two schools.

Demps had 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting to lead Northwestern in the losing effort.
