Doug McDermott went off Saturday. Surprise!

Doug McDermott had a slow first half Sunday, but perhaps he was simply pacing himself. He scored nine straight points in the second half Saturday -- finishing with 25 -- to help the No. 21 Creighton Bluejays to a 75-58 win over the Bradley Braves.

The Braves held a three-point halftime lead at 30-27, which tied for their biggest lead of the game after Creighton had led by as many as seven points midway through the first half. But the Bluejays took control at the outset of the second half, scoring eight unanswered points to take a 35-30 lead with 17:42 to play.

Bradley got to within one possession on several occasions, and to within one point twice, but could did not tie or take the lead in the second half. Still, Creighton didn't pull away until about six and a half minutes remained in the game. At that point the Bluejays led 53-48 and Bradley had not scored for over three minutes. McDermott then went off, scoring nine unanswered points in a span of 1:23 to give the Jays a 65-48 lead.

McDermott had a mere eight points at halftime. He finished 9-of-15 from the floor in 31 minutes. He also led Creighton with seven rebounds.
