Carl Hall's 20 weren't enough to divert the Shockers from their second-straight loss.
Anthony James scored 16 points for the Northern Iowa Panthers on Saturday, and they held the Wichita State Shockers at bay for a 57-52 win.
The Shockers dropped their second game in a row -- they lost 68-55 at home to the Indiana State Sycamores on Tuesday -- and will send their Top 25 fate to the voters Monday.
Meanwhile, Northern Iowa snapped a two-game losing streak, though those two losses came by a combined four points on the road, and moved to 5-6 in Missouri Valley Conference play.
James was the Panthers' only double-figures scorer Saturday, but four other players scored eight or more. Seth Tuttle finished with eight points, eight boards and four blocks.
The Shockers had the ball down 55-52 and with 13 seconds remaining, and Northern Iowa called timeout to set up its defense. Malcolm Armstead turned the ball over with six seconds, however, and Tuttle scored on a run-out dunk to cast the final score.
