The win keeps Kansas State in a first-place tie with Kansas in the Big 12 as the Wildcats aim for the conference regular-season title.
The Wildcats shot a blistering 9-18 from three and controlled the game from the start, jumping out to an 11-4 lead and never looking back. Angel Rodriguez had 16 points and Thomas Gipson added ten off the bench for Kansas State.
Texas, which drops to an uncharacteristic 12-15 with the loss, got 24 points from Myck Kabongo to lead the way. Sheldon McClellan was also in double figures with 15 points.
