Arkansas stormed out to an early lead at Bud Walton Arena. The final score wasn't indicative of just how badly the Razorbacks beat the Gators.
Tuesday night belonged to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Going up against the Florida Gators, who some believe is the best team in the land, Arkansas completely dominated for 40 minutes on its way to a 80-69 win.
The Razorbacks stormed out to a double-digit lead, hitting 14 of their first 17 shot attempts, including 7-of-9 from behind the three-point arc. Florida, on the other hand, struggled with turnovers in front of a hostile crowd at Bud Walton Arena. The Gators eventually settled down in the second half, but it was too little, too late for the nation's No. 2 ranked team.
Arkansas used a balanced scoring attack to disarm the Gators. As a team, the Razorbacks dished out 19 assists and turned the ball over just eight times. BJ Young had 13 points. Marshawn Powell and Michael Qualls both had 11 points each.
Mike Rosario led the way for Florida with 15 points. Scott Wilbekin added 14, while Michael Frazier had 11 off the bench.
Next up for Florida is a home game with Mississippi State on Saturday afternoon. Arkansas heads to Vanderbilt on Saturday afternoon.
