The Creighton Bluejays (26-7, 13-5 MVC) will face the Wichita State Shockers (26-7, 12-6 MVC) in the Missouri Valley Conference title game at 2:05 p.m. Sunday on CBS, after both teams picked up wins Saturday.
The Shockers beat the Illinois State Redbirds, 66-51, in their semifinal. Carl Hall and Malcolm Armstead had 15 points each for Wichita State. The Shockers held Illinois State to just 29 percent shooting for the game and only one Illinois State player scored in double figures. It was the third time Wichita State beat Illinois State this season.
Wooden Award finalist Doug McDermott scored 25 points to lead Creighton past the Indiana State Sycamores, 64-43. Creighton avenged an earlier loss to the Sycamores this season with the win.
Wichita State beat Creighton in January by three when the Blue Jays were ranked No. 12 in the country. Creighton got revenge in the regular season finale, winning 91-80 behind 41 points from McDermott.
