Summit League basketball tournament results and bracket: Western Illinois, South Dakota State advance

The madness has not yet begun in the Summit League.

The first two games of the Summit League basketball tournament are in the books, and thus far no upsets have been recorded.

Western Illinois escaped an upset attempt from South Dakota on Saturday, winning 54-53. South Dakota State, meanwhile, cruised by IUPI 66-49 to advance to the semifinals.

Oakland and IPFW will take the court on Sunday in a quarterfinal match at 7:05 p.m., and North Dakota State will take on UMKC at 9:35 p.m. The semifinals will be played on Monday, March 11, and the championship will be decided on Tuesday live on ESPN2.

No. 2 Western Illinois 54, No. 7 South Dakota 53

No. 1 South Dakota State 66, IUPI 49

Sunday's schedule

No. 4 Oakland vs. No. 5 IPFW - 7:05 p.m.

No. 3 North Dakota State vs. No. 6 UMKC - 9:35 p.m.
