Conference tournaments usually don't have the sway that the regular season does on NCAA Tournament seeding, but the outcome of the ACC Tournament could be the difference between whether the Duke Blue Devils or Miami Hurricanes get a No. 1 seed in the Big Dance.
The Hurricanes already have an impressive resume. They won the ACC regular season title, destroyed Duke at home and narrowly lost at Cameron Indoor, yet going into the ACC Tournament, many viewed the Blue Devils as a No. 1 seed. However, Duke's quarterfinal loss to Maryland may have opened the door for Miami, should the Hurricanes add a conference tournament championship.
Standing in the Hurricanes' way are the No. 3-seed North Carolina Tar Heels, who survived a second-half comeback by Maryland to advance to their third straight ACC Tournament title game. The Tar Heels were led by four starters in double figures, including Dexter Strickland and Reggie Bullock's 15 points apiece. North Carolina is 11-3 in its last two months, but two of those losses have come courtesy of the Hurricanes.
