Louisville vs. Colorado State: Cardinals fans impressed by performance in 2013 NCAA Tournament

The No. 1 Louisville Cardinals had no issues against the No. 9 Colorado St. Rams, impressing their fans with a dominant performance.

The No. 1 Louisville Cardinals faced the No. 9 Colorado St. Rams in the Third Round of the NCAA tournament. The Cardinals easily dispatched the Rams, 82-56, impressing their fans with their performance.

Mike Rutherford wrote about the game over at Card Chronicle, and had nothing but positive words after the team's performance:

I've cheered for a lot of good Louisville teams over the years, but this is the type of tournament performance against a good, disciplined, veteran opponent that I've always been envious of.

Russ Smith had a particularly impressive game, scoring 27 points and receiving a shout out from LeBron James on Twitter. Rutherford took note, writing:

So basically, we're all allowed to refer to Russ as "the lil homie Russ Smith" from now on.

Louisville forced 19 Colorado St. turnovers, but the Rams shot fairly well from the field. The team shot 48 percent from the floor and 42 percent from behind the arc, normally good enough numbers for Colorado St. to win. The Cardinals did a good job keeping one of the top rebounding teams off the glass, limiting their much-needed second chance opportunities.

Rutherford summed up the team's performance by stating:

I'll just say it: I'm not sure we can play any better. The good thing about that is that we beat a good team by 26 with said effort.
