Florida vs. Florida Gulf Coast score update: Gators lead, 30-26, at halftime

USA TODAY Sports

Florida leads FGCU at the half after a big comeback. Is the dream dead for Dunk City?

The Florida Gulf Coast Eagles are trying to keep the magic alive against the Florida Gators. Unfortunately, the Gators have other plans, and currently lead the Eagles, 30-26, at halftime.

The Eagles wasted no time taking control of this game, starting things off with a 15-4 run. Chase Fieler led the scoring barrage by knocking down two three pointers. Meanwhile, Florida has been unable to buy a shot, not making a three-pointer until the 6:49 mark.

Florida stole the momentum back, however, using a 19-3 run to get the lead going into the locker room. FGCU went nearly seven minutes without scoring a single field goal.

Fieler and Sherwood Brown led the Eagles with six points and Brett Comer dished out five assists. Erik Murphy has been quiet for the Gators, only managing two points and making 1 of 4 field goal attempts. Casey Prather has seven points to lead the Gators.

If the Eagles want to come back in this one, they need to take better care of the ball. FGCU has 13 turnovers already and gave up eight steals to Florida.
